How did Scor end up in China?
Scor started rapping at 13 in Bremerhaven. After school he spent time in Paris learning French, where he met Chinese people and became curious about China, according to an interview with web.de. He then studied business communication in Berlin, taught himself Mandarin on the side, and did exchange semesters at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
In 2017 he moved to Shenzhen for a marketing job at the logistics company SF Express. The office work did not suit him, and he left in 2018 to rap full time. In his book, he describes the cheap early apartment in Shenzhen as a doghouse.
Rap in Chinese came from a long-running interest. He has said he got hooked on Chinese hip-hop around 2013, and the Shenzhen-based outlet EYESHENZHEN reported that he first heard rap through Eminem. His Chinese stage name is Scor Aoxi, which is also his Instagram handle, scor.aoxi.
Fortune Code, Rap for Youth and the first albums
The breakthrough came in 2020 with a Mandarin diss track called "Fortune Code", which passed five million views on the Chinese video site Bilibili. That led to an invitation to Rap for Youth, a Bilibili talent show, where he appeared as the only German.
His album "Scorleone" followed in December 2021 on the label Ti'an International. A CGTN profile from August 2022 described him as a five-year Shenzhen resident whose music helped him connect with the city.
In spring 2022 he opened a TikTok account with German-language daily life from Shenzhen. His YouTube video from a Uyghur rapper friend's wedding in Urumqi has more than 830,000 views.

In the web.de interview he says about 70 percent of "Social Scor" is in German, and that it deals with limits on what artists can say in China. Its music videos include "Brücken" with KDM Shey and "Brain Pudding" with ROC.
