Who is Sophy?
Sophy, who goes by sophmapua on social media, is a Twitch streamer from the Philippines with about 44,500 followers on Twitch as of October 2026. She describes herself on her channel as a "human golden retriever" who likes gaming and making sound effects.
She built her audience playing Dota 2 and was brought on as a streamer and content creator by the Southeast Asian esports organization Talon in 2022. Her Instagram, where she posts as sophmapua, has around 634,000 followers.

How did Sophy start streaming?
Sophy grew up in the Philippines and went to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where she majored in entrepreneurship and minored in theater. She told esports.gg in 2022 that her father got her into games early, starting with Frogger and a Nintendo 64, and that she bought her own PS4 in high school with money she had saved.
Dota came from boredom. In her first year of high school she browsed Steam and found a free game called Dota, which she says cost her all her sanity. After moving back to the Philippines she was playing around 16 games a day, so she figured she might as well stream it. She began on Twitch in 2020.
She has said she always wanted to host or act, and that streaming let her host her own shows. At the time of the esports.gg interview she had grown from 20 to 30 average viewers to a steady 300 to 400, and she had climbed in Dota from Archon to Divine 4 in two years.

Sophy and Talon Esports
Talon welcomed Sophy to the team on March 6, 2022, with a post saying she was coming live from the Philippines. She told esports.gg that Talon's general manager had scouted her the previous November and asked her to become the organization's key opinion leader, meaning its streamer and influencer. She called herself subject zero for that role at Talon, until the caster johnxfire joined.
Her job grew into marketing manager as well. During the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit season she followed Talon from Division II up to Division I, and she described crying with the players and staff after a win over Boom Esports. She also streamed IRL with the Talon Dota team.
On March 19, 2022 she posted that her voice and sprays were in Dota 2. The esports.gg interview shows content she made for Talon's supporter pack.

Where Sophy is now
In October 2023 Sophy wrote on X that she had been streaming and making Dota content for three years, had even hosted a DPC, and wanted to grow beyond what Dota alone could support. Recent broadcasts on her channel include The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales and a birthday stream where she did voice acting.
Her channel's goals bar was sitting at 44,528 of 45,000 followers when the page was checked in October 2026. She lists the Philippines as her base and Manila on Instagram.
